Sometimes You Have to Start Over to Win

One of the most difficult things to do is Start Over. After years of pouring our heart, love, time, energy and resources into a project, goal or relationship – it seems so defeating to just pull out and abandon ship. But sometimes, it is necessary to do.

Rather than continue to go down a path that is… Continue

I Only Strive to be One Thing In Life. Undeniable.

Whatever I do, I try to do it well. No one should compare their talents and abilities to that of another. We are all unique in what we have to offer the world. There are no standards that should be followed in the pure expression of our spirit.

Your voice sounds like your voice, and when others hear it, it doesn't have to be beautiful - but it shoul… Continue

What Have You Done For You Lately?

We work overtime for others ~ attending to their needs, paying attention to what is important to them, trying to figure out what we can do to make their worlds a better place to be. But when it comes to giving that same love, affection & attention to ourselves its often put o… Continue

When We Were Superheroes (Part I)

We've traveled through various stages of life and have somehow managed to successfully reach adulthood. But many are experiencing some sort of stagnation, a stalemate as if life is no longer full of excitement and the mentality has become all but dismal. If you've noticed that you'v… Continue

Upgrade Our Love

It’s interesting how people grow up, but their styles of loving don’t! There were some things that were ultra cute when we were in high school; and some things that were tolerable during our early years of loving a partner... But at this stage in the game, these same things are no longer cute and in some cases, just down-right int… Continue

The Light in The Dark

Before, I didn’t know. I didn’t realize the role that I played in creating the circumstances in my life. Whether it was people who I allowed to be there, situations that I asked for either consciously or unconsciously, the love, the pain, the success, the failure – I created it all. Coming to an honest enough place where I was ab… Continue

The Evolution of Revolution

I Was Asked, "What Is Revolution"

Hmmm....

It made me consider that people often times have the wrong idea of what a Revolution is. Most think exclusively of the act of revolting which of course entails the guns, the riots, the rebelling and the breaking down of systems. Because… Continue

Rolling Stone Movie Reviews

Alice in Wonderland

Starring: Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Mia Wasikowska Review: Sexual panic is the last thing you'd expect to prod Alice to get her ass down a rabbit hole. But, hell, this is Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, not your third-grade teacher's version. Scholars of British author Lewis Carroll (1832-1898) will no doubt shriek, "Off with Burton's head!" for the liberties he takes in this 3-D mix of live action and animation. In the script that Linda Woolverton (The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast) has woven, often forcibly, from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, things have changed — dramatically. Peter Travers reviews Alice in Wonderland in his weekly video podcast, "At the Movies With Peter Travers." For starters, Alice is no longer seven years old. As played with feminist fire by Mia Wasikowska (so... Rating: 2.5 Stars

Brooklyn's Finest

Starring: Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke, Don Cheadle Review: Simultaneously full of itself and full of shit, Brooklyn's Finest is a cop movie so shallow, dumb, derivative and infuriating that it feels like a parody of bad cop movies. From the glaringly obnoxious opening scene of a parked car with its turn signal blinking, blinking, blinking, to the spray of clichés that blast the audience without mercy, this movie is the cinematic equivalent of waterboarding. ( Peter Travers reviews Brooklyn's Finest in his weekly video podcast, "At the Movies With Peter Travers.") We're meant to weep at the tragedy of three cops out of Brooklyn's hardscrabble 65th Precinct. Should Sal (Ethan Hawke) go on the take to support his wife and kids? Will Eddie (Richard Gere) make it to retirement? Can undercover cop Tango (Don Cheadle) come in from the cold before... Rating: Not Rated
